Nintendo sues Nyko over Kama Wireless Nunchuck

Kama Wireless Nunchuck

I have a few Nyko products in my Wii collection. The Charge Station rechargeable batteries and Extra Battery and Grip Cover for Charge Station and they are great products. When I saw their new Kama Wireless Nunchuck, I wanted to order it too but forgot about it. Now I guess I should buy one as it may someday become a collectors item since Nintendo is not too happy about this gadget. Get the Kama Wireless Nunchuck over here

Nintendo considers that Nyko has infringed its patent over Nunchuck name and violated its patented design.

Nintendo asked the court to issue an order to stop Nyko to sell the wireless controller, which is priced at $39,99. The Japanese company, which is Kyoto-based but has offices in Washington and Redmond, is seeking also cash compensation.

“While Nintendo supports the creation of innovative games and products used with our game systems, we cannot allow third parties to infringe our intellectual property rights,” Denise Kaigler, a vice president with Nintendo of America, said in a statement.

Nintendo Wii Nunchuck controller goes Wireless

Nintendo Wii

Thanks to Nyko, you don’t need to plug the Wii Nunchuck via cable on da Wiiremote anymore. It has gone Wireless.

It has full accelerometer support and it goes up to 30 hours of gameplay on two standard AAA batteries. That’s quite good since the Nyko Charge Station makes my Wiiremote play for only 25 hrs. Expect to see it on Amazon or your local store shelves in February 2008 for $29.99.
