Silver Spoon Bakery Holds Cupcake Contest to Raise Money for Charity

Providence, RI (PRWEB) March 28, 2011

Silver Spoon Bakery, a Rhode Island bake shop specializing in delivery service of traditional and gluten-free treats, is proud to announce its inaugural “Caring with Cupcakes” contest. Participants are asked to design and name a cupcake, with the winner’s cupcake featured as one on Silver Spoon Bakery’s menu for a year. The winner will receive recognition for designing and naming the cupcake and their charity of choice will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their special cupcake.

“I am so excited to be running a fun and meaningful contest like this,” said Kelly Colgan, owner, Silver Spoon Bakery. “‘Caring with Cupcakes’ is about giving back and we believe it is important to involve our customers not only in the creation of our treats, but in donating to the organizations that mean the most to them.”

The contest was kicked off at the ‘Cupcake Throwdown’, a competition among Rhode Island’s bakeries and bakers, held at The Towers in Narragansett, RI, on Sunday, March 27.
