    By admin | April 24, 2007

    zBoost zP

Wi-Ex has launches its new version of zBoost zP ie Portable cell phone repeater as low as $99 to the market. The product had been rewarded a CTIA Emerging Technologies (E-Tech) Award and wins the 3rd place.

zBoost zP is the portable cell phone repeater, it basically repeats and amplifies a cell phone signal from outside the building to consumer’s phone and is ideal for dorms, hotel rooms, condos or apartments. In addition, it also supports voice calls or data services!! All come in one package, and the device also come in wired and wireless.

Quote from the Lloyd R. Meese, the President and CEO of Wi-Ex “We looked at the marketplace compared to our current product offering and found a consumer need based on travel, as well as smaller spaces. The zBoost zP provides a unique solution for those consumers and takes only minutes to set-up with a very small footprint.” From all the information available, it is not hard to know the potential market is the heavy traveling business personnel who required traveling from place to place and contacting the client on phone. Well done, Wi-Ex, it is a brilliant ideal device and we believe that people will love it.

      Hi

How much does the cell phone repeater cost, and does it work in the UK (non-tri-band)?

There are two models of the zP, the cheaper wired version ($99), and a wireless version (expected to cost $179).

Neither of these will work with UK frequencies. However, I’m sure that Europe will be seeing a lot more repeater products in the near future (particularly since UMTS has been deployed widely across the EU, and it requires strong signal levels in order to work reliably).
