If your Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has an unlocked bootloader or has been rooted already, you’d probably have problems sending it for repairs as it will void your warranty. However, you can still restore it to the Locked bootloader default status (unroot) by using the Sony Ericsson Update Service software. It has a update + restore option that puts it back in the original state ie locked/unrooted.
