Stardock launches its 2008 version of Object Desktop, making it easier than ever to give Windows a whole new look and feel. The 2008 version sees a departure in how Stardock has traditionally offered the suite, splitting it into two different versions. Details about each version are below in the press release. This is definitely something PC enthusiasts and corporate branders will want to know about as they now have a couple different options to weigh for their customization needs.

Stardock Corporation, the world’s leading provider of desktop enhancement software, launched Object Desktop 2008 today. Object Desktop is a suite of utilities that enables users to completely personalize the Windows experience – change how Windows looks, feels, and functions to suit the user’s preference. The 2008 version of the suite is split into two tiers: Object Desktop 2008, and Object Desktop 2008 Ultimate. The standard version is set at $49.95, with the Ultimate edition tagged at $69.95. Existing Object Desktop owners will be upgraded to the Ultimate edition of the software for free.

Popular programs included in Object Desktop 2008 are WindowBlinds, IconPackager, DesktopX, Deskscapes, SoundPackager and a score of new exclusive skins, wallpapers, gadgets, sounds and more. The Ultimate version will add TweakVista, SkinStudio, IconDeveloper, and more than six new programs to the lineup. These programs are immensely popular on their own with over 15 million downloads on CNET’s Download.com alone. When combined together in Object Desktop, users can take complete control of their Windows environment.

“The 2008 edition of Object Desktop is by far our most polished and robust suite of utilities yet,” said Brad Wardell, president & CEO of Stardock Corporation. “We’ve altered the entire user interface of the suite, and changed how users can select or manage programs. This way, users can be confident they’ll get exactly what they want with their suite.”
