The Mosio Project for SMS Mobile Tools

It gives users “all you can text” unlimited access to dozens of mobile tools via SMS for $3.95/month (USD). This link has a press release and images if you’re interested and I’ll have the system send you a free promo code if you’d like to check it out in greater detail, just let me know. http://www.mosioproject.com/media.html

The Mosio Project has bundled all of the SMS tools/services we thought would be great and instead of charging for each one, we decided to give people unlimited access to all of them for $.99 per week. Plus, Mosio uses a “contextual contributions” socially responsible business model where $.25 of each monthly subscription is donated to technology and engineering projects through organizations like Engineers Without Borders and Wherever The Need.

3 Favorite Tools:
1) QnA – this is like AskMeNow or any of those other question answering services, but you don’t pay per question. Instead your questions get sent to other Mosio Members (called QnAgents) who have offered to answer questions whenever they’re at their computers. It’s basically a community-based mobile answering service with 3 guidelines:
+ Please ask only questions that can be quickly answered by someone with an internet connection.
+ If you are near an internet connection, don’t ask QnA questions, help answer them!
+ Ask a smart ass question, expect a smart ass answer.

2) Lost Phone – If you lose your phone, this one has you log into your account and it will send a customized text message to your phone saying “THIS PHONE IS LOST – WHEN FOUND CALL _______” or another, ahem, more “colorful” message, if you suspect it has been stolen. :) Definitely a tool one hopefully never needs to use, but it’s there just in case.

3) MyMosio – This tool allows you to create your own keywords/responses as well as publish a SMS text newsletter (aka “TextCasts”) to those who subscribe from their phones. They do not need to be Mosio members and can subscribe to MyMosio TextCasts for free. Besides the SMS blog, couponing and marketing ways it can be used, there’s also a social networking aspect to it where you can ping in and find out where you’re friends are and what they’re doing when you’re out and about.
