In November, 2006, Novell and Microsoft announced a landmark agreement to work together to design and test new software solutions in three areas where we see exciting opportunities to combine our strengths and better serve customers: virtualization, Web services and document format compatibility. Focusing on the virtualization agreement, this paper provides a brief overview of virtualization technology, outlines the deliverables from both Microsoft and Novell and discusses the customer benefits of this collaboration.
