ReviewMe is has launched and it could bury Payperpost. They have a higher payout for posts, ranging from USD$20 to USD200 and a review must be a minimum of 200 words. Payperpost pays up to $20 only….Hmm…many bloggers could be jumping ship soon…
I’ve just signed up and it was easy. Once you add in your blogs (up to 6), you can instantly see the payouts for each review that you do (ReviewMe gets 50% of the cut) and its based on how popular your blog is according to Alexa and Technorati. I won’t disclose my rates in case people get jeolous…Payouts are done via checks and paypal.
Other features of ReviewMe :
- Bloggers must disclose that the review is a paid advertisement. They can do this in anyway they choose, ie “The following is a paid review:” “Paid Advertisement:” etc. This is another improvement over PayPerPost, which is heavily criticized because it does not require disclosure.
- Advertisers can purchase posts, but they cannot require that a post is positive. The blogger can choose to write their honest opinion without fear of not being paid. The only requirement is that the review must be a minimum of 200 words. I wonder if advertisers will run away if they get too many negative reviews. Lets hope they understand construtive comments.
All in all, this service is still new. I hope ReviewMe will stay afloat long enough for me to earn a new notebook. My old ASUS laptop is dying on me after 2 years of blogging. lol
