Darn. I have a headache.

Somehow I can’t seem to get things running correctly on the mypuchong.net blog.

I just bought new hosting at a USA site. I’m moving my files from the mypuchong folder on thesmsguide.com to the new hosting as currently all mypuchong.net files are on that folder.

I’ve set up an add on domain on the new hosting for http://www.mypuchong.net/ which creates a subdomain called mypuchong. I’ve managed to move all files from thesmsguide.com to the new hosting via FTP. I’ve even transfered all the SQL files via phyMyAdmin. But darn it. Somehow if you open the site at http://www.mypuchong.net/, the individual posts still point back to thesmsguide.com

How on earth do I change all the individual post to point to http://www.mypuchong.net/xx/blog-post ??

I read somewhere that changes need to be done to the hosting’s .htaccess file. I don’t want to mess that up…So I’m gonna try this site out – Backupmyblog. Will tell you later if it works.

Note :
The DNS servers for mypuchong.net are already pointing to the new US hosting

1. Marius has to update the mysql dump with the correct directory and modify the .htaccess files

3. Excellent. The move is a success ! – I followed the steps here
There was a bug tho – I had to login to mypuchong wp-admin, goto options, permalinks and give it an update. Then all the single pages can load !

2 things to backup Wordpress :
1. from cpanel , use phpmyadmin to backup all sql database
2. use ftp to backup all files like images, php files
